Qiskit ist eine Open-Source-Software für die Arbeit mit Quantencomputern auf der Ebene von Schaltungen, Impulsen und Algorithmen. Darüber hinaus gibt es mehrere domänenspezifische APIs, die auf diesem Kernmodul vorhanden sind.

Das zentrale Ziel von Qiskit ist es, einen Software-Paket zu erstellen um Quantencomputer zu verwenden, unabhängig von ihrem Schwierigkeitsgrad oder ihrem Interessengebiet; Qiskit ermöglicht es, Experimente und Anwendungen einfach zu entwerfen und auf realen Quantencomputern und/oder klassischen Simulatoren auszuführen. Qiskit wird weltweit bereits von Anfängern, Hobbyisten, Pädagogen, Forschern und kommerziellen Unternehmen eingesetzt.
