classmethod Clifford.from_matrix(matrix)

Create a Clifford from a unitary matrix.

Note that this function takes exponentially long time w.r.t. the number of qubits.

Parameters

matrix (np.array) – A unitary matrix representing a Clifford to be converted.

Returns

the Clifford object for the unitary matrix.

Return type

Clifford

Raises

QiskitError – if the input is not a Clifford matrix.
